Analyser reduces jitter to be true
08 February 2008
At DesignCon, Agilent unveiled a precision waveform analyser with a residual jitter <100femtosecs.
This ability to analyse 100,000 waveforms/sec, improves the probability of capturing infrequent events, such as glitches, especially when the digital channel is on. Channel bandwidths are up to 35GHz for visibility.
The 86100C DCA-J precision analyser can verify and validate high-speed electrical communications systems and components.
Integrated hardware clock recovery makes measurement set-up easier, enabling the analyser to trigger directly from a single-ended or differential data signal, so there is no need for a separate trigger input. The integrated tiggering system functions, even when spread-spectrum clocking is in operation for accuracy in analysing signals on components and systems for serial buses. An on-board phase detector identifies PLL bandwidth on devices with clock or data inputs and outputs.
