CMOS sensors detect differences
24 June 2008
Custom, high-sensitivity CMOS sensors detect small, fast moving objects or subtle differences in scenes.
The high quantum efficiency, they operate at more than 80 per cent, sensors have a low-noise, full frame global shuttering scheme which sends high-quality image sensor data for an algorithm to detect small, fast moving objects or subtle contrast differences in wide-dynamic scenes.
According to e2v, the sensors can be used in surveillance and security at borders and immigration, ADAS (automotive driver active safety) applications and for industrial machine vision, including barcode reading.
The custom sensors and embedded processing from the company can be combined with proven library components for high-performance, application-specific imaging systems that can prove to be cost-effective, says the comany.
The company supplies the Imaging Toolbox for design develoment to develop devices in-house in stead of off-the-shelf products.
