COTS MOSFETs as an alternative

15 July 2008

RAD-Hard MOSFETs from IR can be driven from CMOS/TTL logic circuitry, reducing parts count.

With the introduction of 60V, 100V and 250V RAD-Hard logic level gate drive MOSFETs for switch mode power supplies, the MOSFETs are designed for satellite power distribution systems and resonant power converters in applications where high reliability is crucial.

Furthermore, low on-state resistance, fast switching and small dimensions mean that they can be an alternative to traditional bipolar devices. The range of MOSFETs includes N and P channel in single and multi-chip configurations in a range of through-hole and surface mount packages, including SMD-0.5, SMD-2, LCC-28, 14 lead flat pack, TO-205AF, Low-Ohmic TO-257AA, and MO-036AB. The devices have total ionising dose capability of up to 300Krad(Si), single event effect immunity to 82MeV, and are available in screened and COTS versions.
