Software simplifies channel-count

15 July 2008

DIAdem 11.0, the latest version of National Instruments’ interactive software for test data, adds sensor data mapping.

The sensor data mapping for 3D CAD models simplifies the visualisation of high-channel-count systems, claims the company. It also streamlines large group test management with automatic conversion and scaling of engineering sets.

The interactive software is used to manage, analyse and report on data collected during data acquisition or which is generated during simulations. It can handle large volumes of data, according to the company, and provides reporting and data visualisation. The data acquired via the sensors can be mapped to any virtual reality modelling language, or STL file format CAD model to give the engineer a clearer idea of the measurement or simulation data in the project. It is particularly used in aerospace, automotive and structural test situations.

Data can be shared, increasing productivity, with this new version of DIAdem as it enables teams to share data by automatically converting and scaling engineering sets or measurements adjusting for geographic or standardisation differences so that workers in multiple locations can access the data for use. The software allows users to expand and limit search parameters to create complex data queries, relevant to their role.

A script editor includes CodeCompletion for methods and properties of objects, to simplify and accelerate script writing as well as the conventional highlighting of syntax.

The company has also announced DataFinder Server Edition 2.0 software to work with DIAdem to extend test data management to be used by large groups or to other departments. It has security management support and integrates with an electronic archiving system to help with managing, analysing and reporting test data.
