Conformance test for mobile handsets

Agilent Technologies has added the GS-8852 to its GS-8800 family of RF design verification and conformance test products. It is a 2G RF conformance test system for mobile handsets, testing to GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, EGPRS specifications.
It is described as performing high-accuracy measurements by the company and offering repeatability to test devices for conformance to test standards as set out by the Global Certification Forum or PCS-type certification review board (PTCRB) for UMTS mobile phones.
The single test system has RF transmitter, receiver and performance tests in accordance with 3GPP TS51.010-1 test specification for GSM, GPRS and EGPRS. The company has announced that support for DARP technology will be available later.
The GS-8852 also supports GSM 850, GSM 900, DCS 1800 and PCS 1900 to minimize capital investment and for an easy upgrade path for future 3G and 3.5G formats.
