SD cards read at speed

SD format flash memory cards have a data read speed of up to 20Mbyte/sec.

The Toshiba range of SD cards has been extended for different requirements, and includes a standard, high-speed, and a high-speed professional line.
The standard range offers data read speeds of up to 20Mbyte/sec and write speeds of up to 6Mbyte/sec. Also available are 2Gbyte, 4Gbyte, and 8GByte capacities, and 16Gbyte and 32Gbyte versions will be introduced during the fourth quarter of this year.
High-Speed SD cards have been designed for smart phones, compact cameras, and digital SLR cameras, and offer the same data read speed as the standard line, but with write speeds of up to 10Mbyte/sec. This range is also available in 4Gbyte, 8Gbyte, 16Gbyte and 32Gbyte versions.
Alternatively, the company’s high-speed professional line provides a maximum read and write speed of 20Mbyte/sec in 1Gbyte, 2Gbyte, and 4Gbyte versions.
