Half-pitch switch
02 December 2008
DIP switch is for portable computer and electronic devices.

Supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker, pushbutton switches and smart card interconnect devices, C&K Components has developed an ultra-miniature, surface mount, side-actuated DIP switch for a range of applications.
Designated the TDP-series, the half pitch switch features a dual bifurcated wiping action that ensures reliable contact. When mounted horizontally, the side-actuation mechanism provides visual confirmation of the on/off status. It is said to be suitable for various applications, including those currently using piano DIPs and require a miniature replacement solution, such as logic switching for computers and peripherals, as well as switching for industrial controls. Additional applications for the TDP Series DIP switches include electronic cash registers and ATMs, automated warehouse delivery systems, hand-held electrical devices, portable computer and electronic devices, and instrumentation and controls.
The TDP Series DIP switches measure 4.16mm above the PC board and feature a 1.28mm layout pitch. Process-sealed for surface mount wash processing, the RoHS-compatible devices feature gold over nickel over copper alloy contacts and a UL 94V-0 PPS flame retardant housing. The switches are rated for 24VDC, 25mA (switching) and 50VDC, 100mA (steady state) operation and feature life cycles to 1000 rotations (make and break) at full load. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +85°C and the new product is available now through distributor Rutronik.
