Bringing ‘e-Paper’ to life

16 December 2008

GPEG has announced the introduction of its active matrix ‘e-Paper’ products to the displays market.

According to the manufacturer, e-Paper provides a bi-stable image with very high reflectivity. The display only uses power when the screen is refreshed and the reflective black on white image provides a paper like quality with a claimed 180-degree readability.

Displays are available in a range of sizes, including 1.9in, 5.0in, 6.0in, 8.0in, and a 9.7in 1200 x 825 equivalent resolution module. These displays are aimed at mid to high volume usage across professional, industrial and consumer applications. Possible uses could include e-Readers, smart cards, e-Signage, industrial designs, medical equipment, transportation, shelf edge labels, and electronic dictionaries.
