New RJ-45 plug-in connectors from Tyco Electronics for SafetyNET p Ethernet systems

London – January 19, 2009 – With the new RJ-45 modular plug for field assembly, Tyco Electronics has introduced a powerful RJ-45 plug-in connector for Fast and Gigabit Ethernet. Designed for a transmission rate from 100 Mbit/s (4-pin) to 1,000 Mbit/s (8-pin), it is ideal for industrial automation and therefore suitable for Ethernet systems such as SafetyNET p. The plug-in connector is designed with quick-connect technology in accordance with the common core principle, thereby enabling simple, time-saving and yet extremely reliable installation. The common core principle means that the connector core is integrated into a range of housing types. Interfaces with IP20 to IP65/67 protection can be implemented based on this intelligent connector platform, bringing considerable user benefits and low equipment costs.
These innovative connectors are also used in conventional, Ethernet-based automation and network technology. Increasing pressure on both time and price, high wage costs and indirect labour costs, smaller loads and intense competition all demand ever higher productivity.
