Staying in the loop

22 June 2009

Tool released to improve diagnostic capability of testing for fault response of Engine Control Units using HIL.

New application solution focussing on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).

The Automotive Expo show was held in Stuttgart from June 17th to 18th. Amongst the product releases were new applications for LXI and PXI platforms from Pickering Interfaces. Partnering with B2I Automotive Engineering, Pickering Interfaces showed an application solution focussing on Hardware In the Loop (HIL) applications.

B2i Automotive has designed a tool to improve diagnostic capability of testing for fault response of Engine Control Units using HIL validation techniques. This tool integrates Pickering Interfaces Fault Insertion PXI modules into a system which is controlled in a deterministic manner in a real time operating system. The system combines the modules with other standardised tools to increase the validation coverage, reduce automation time and provide repeatable test responses in a fully calibrated system.
