Low cost FPGAs and soft core processors gives engineers a flexible option for system development

At SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg (taking place from 24-26 November) Altera will be presenting high performance and flexible FPGA-based solutions for Industrial Ethernet, motor control, LCD displays and high performance processor I/O hub expansion.

On display will be several examples of industrial applications for FPGA devices:
• Support for multiple Industrial Ethernet standards from a single platform
• FPGA based motor control development kits and products
• The Intel Atom processor and Arria  GX FPGA working together in the Gleichmann Research Industrial reference platform
• Using a FPGA as a flexible way to drive LCD displays

During all three days of the event Altera and Arrow will host free 40 minute workshops where attendees will build and run a custom Nios II microcontroller in FPGA on the BeMicro evaluation board. The workshops are free and at each session two complimentary Arrow BeMicro kits will be awarded to selected attendees.
