Sanmina-SCI enters solid storage market

Viking Modular Solutions partners with SandForce for SSD processor technology.
Viking Modular Solutions, a division of Sanmina-SCI Corporation and manufacturer of memory and flash solutions, has announced that it has selected SandForce high performance processors for its solid state drive (SSD) products.
To meet the growing demand for high quality, enterprise class and industrial grade SSD products, Viking Modular Solutions will support high performance standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) 6Gb/s and serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) 3Gb/s using standard 2.5in form-factor SSDs. Additionally, Viking Modular Solutions will supply multiple form-factors, including 1.8in and innovative ‘non-HDD-like’ solutions for space constrained and/or rugged applications.
“The announcement represents the results of collaboration between Viking Modular Solutions and SandForce for current and future high performance SSD products that target enterprise, storage and multiple other applications requiring superior performance and security,” stated Hamid Shokrgozar, President of Viking Modular Solutions.
