Nexcom has launched embedded CPU boards designed for a range of applicationsThe company has announced that it has recently launched a range of embedded CPU boards aimed at automation, multimedia and HMI/Kiosk applications. All products are designed for continuous operation and enjoy long-term CPU support.

For graphic intensive multi-media applications, Nexcom has launched EBC 550; a 5.25in embedded CPU board with Intel GM45 with GMA 4500MHD Graphic Engine. It can support a wide variety of high power CPU’s including Intel Core 2 Duo and Celeron M and supports DDR3 1066 MHz DRAM memory. With support for dual display and expansion via PCIe x16, PCIe x4 and PCI, EBC 550 can be integrated into a wide variety of graphic intensive machinery/equipment. Typical applications include video streaming, image processing, visual inspection and face/feature recognition.

For machine builders looking for an off-the shelf embedded computing platform suitable for automation applications EBC 360 is the ideal solution. It is a 3.5in embedded board with an on-board Intel System-on-Chip Tolapai processor 1200/600MHz with 256KB L2 cache. With a variety of features such as 1 x VGA, 2 x GBE LAN, 1 x IEEE 1394, PCI 104 connection and 2 x CAN Bus ports, EBC 360 will find uses within automation type applications within a range of industries.

EBC 540 is a 5.25in embedded CPU board which has been specifically designed for use within Digital Signage and MHI devices. Based on the on-board Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor with 512KB L2 cache by 533MHz FSB, EBC 540 features the Intel 945GSE and ICH7-M chipsets, which supports DDR2 400/533 memory. With integrated GMA950 graphics for large display applications it can support dual independent display in either VGA/LVDS, LDVS/DVI-D and Dual LVDS configurations.
