LightningChart Pro, the fastest chart / graph library for .NET
24 February 2010
Arction has developed the most powerful measurement signal chart/graph plotting library for .NET running with Windows. It can draw more A/D data than any other control installable on Microsoft Visual Studio. It leaves much CPU power free for example real-time digital signal processing.
The product is brand new and has just been released.

The brutal power of the LightningChart is achieved by utilizing modern graphics processors in innovative ways, and it doesn’t stress computer CPU practically at all, in typical solutions. Arction's products keep going on with sample rates and point counts where all other chart controls get delayed, freeze or crash.
Arction's products allows developing super-fast data acquisition and real-time analysis solutions on Windows or Windows-based embedded platform, like oscilloscopes and signal analyzers.
The product is available in two editions: Pro and Basic.
- Pro is the full version, having the all the features, maximum data handling capacity and performance. A versatile signal generator library is included for fast software development, so the developer can program the software without actual acquisition hardware. One developer license costs 3000 EUR (4173.09 USD). Volume licensing discounts are available.
- Basic is a “budget version”, with restricted features and performance. One developer license costs 400 EUR (556.52 USD). Volume licensing discounts are available.

Device manufacturers can also get a “LightningChart Pro OEM” licensing option. If you are a device manufacturer, LightningChart Pro can be labeled to your brand. Then you can deliver LightningChart as part of your software development kit. The company integrating your device support is also licensed to use LightningChart OEM as part of their software. Their software can be delivered free of any royalties, with your devices.
Some key features / specs for Pro edition:
- Data handling capacity is up to hundreds of millions of new data points/sec. (Depends on display adapter model, processor, window size, and drawing options selected)
- 64-bit data handling is supported, so 2 GB memory is not a limit.
- Unlimited channel / series count
- Sweep / scrolling / stepping / signal level triggered real-time monitoring types.
- SampleData series, PointLine series, Freeform line series, Bar series
- Constant level lines for limits setting
- Bands for marking area of interest
- Line series tracking cursors. Follows the signal lines and resolves their values at specific position
- Event marker symbols. Marks signal at specific position. Follows the signal as needed.
- Customizable scrollbars with 64-bit value range for direct usage as sample indexing in long high speed measurements.
Requirements:
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, 2008 or 2010.
- Windows XP, Vista or 7, 32 and 64 platforms are both supported
- DirectX 9 level display adapter with 128 MB or more memory, DirectX 10 level is strongly recommended for maximal performance and visual appearance
- .NET runtime 3.5
