A powerful customer has placed a large order for power products.
Orbit International, a defence and industrial electronics manufacturer, systems integrator and provider, has announced that its Power Group, Behlman Electronics, has received an order valued in excess of $530,000 for its COTS Division.
This is for a power supply to be used on the RC-135, a US Air Force all-weather surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft. Deliveries under this contract are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2010 and continue through to the second quarter of 2011.
This is the first production order for this power supply for which Behlman had previously delivered several prototype and pre-production orders to its customer, a prime contractor to the USAF. Behlman anticipates additional production orders for these units as the USAF continues to upgrade this aircraft.

In addition to the increased COTS division business activity, Behlman's commercial division continues to receive new orders; July was Behlman's best month this year to date for new bookings.
