Sypris Electronics, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions, has received certification from the US Government for its Raskl (KIK-30) electronic key fill device.

Raskl is one of the first modern KYK-13 replacement devices to receive a high assurance National Security Agency (NSA) certification for tactical use.

The ‘Really Simple Key Loader’, or Raskl, is a modernised electronic key fill product used to load electronic keying data into secure communication equipment. Due to the demanding, tactical environments for which the product was designed, Raskl is fully ruggedised, small, lightweight, requires no formal training, and implements a one-button ‘key squirt’ process for loading electronic key. Raskl holds up to 40 modern electronic keys and is depot repairable.

The NSA Type 1 certified Raskl supports modern key and has a user friendly HMI that requires no training. There is receipt and transmission of key material using DS-101, 102 and RS-232 protocols, DS-101 support of bussed ECU key loading, and users can interface directly with Tier 2 LMD/KPs, hard copy readers (KOI-18), Tier 3 devices (SDS, SKL, CT3, Fill UAS, KYK-13, KYX-15), ACES and DMD workstations. Raskl receives SINCGARS Hopsets, Lockouts, TSK from Tier 2 Workstation and loads data into radios and decrypts TrKEK encrypted keys (black key). It maintains user selected default data and preferences for simplified key loading operations and stores an audit trail, uploads audit data, and provides date and time functions, and there is extended clearance on female port for direct connect to ECUs.
