If you only do one thing today…
03 May 2011
The current spate of bank holidays have resulted in an atmosphere of having normality put on hold for a couple of weeks, the same as happens at Christmas.

It seemed the temptation of getting ‘11 days for 3’ was too much for a large number of people and I have noticed a distinct rise in the number of answer phones I have spoken to over the last two weeks, and equally a more than average quota of ‘out of hours’ responses I get from emails.
However, in the same way that the new year stimulates some to stride forward with new purpose in their step, normality is back and there is work to be done. Even if you are not one of those feeling refuelled and full of vigour, there is one job I would ask readers of EPD to place at the forefront of their ‘to do’ list. It is only a few weeks until closing date for entries for this year’s e-Legacy awards. You have until 27th May 2011 to get your entries in – and it really is designed to be a simple process. It only takes a matter of minutes.
Entry is free and comprises a 200 word description along with a photo where possible. The entry form sits on the EPDonTheNet.net web site. There was a glitch for a day last week, when our server obviously decided to take an extended Easter break as well, which crashed the process if a picture was added. For those who tried and failed last week the problem has now been fixed so please try again.
This is always an exciting time of year for us on EPD when this year’s entries start rolling in. The nature of the e-Legacy awards attracts the sort of projects that the entrants are genuinely proud of, and that pride can extend throughout an organisation if you are shortlisted as a finalist. It seems every year that the e-Legacy awards become more relevant to the electronics industry – the ideals behind e-Legacy are common business objectives for many of the best companies. It is no surprise that more and more companies find themselves in a position to enter by virtue of simply managing themselves responsibly.
So for those who have not already entered, please make this a priority. Not only do we really like to see the entries as they come in, you could find yourself as a finalist at our gala awards luncheon in September, rubbing shoulders with people selected as industry’s finest – people like you?
