The new OLED from GTK has a ‘free viewing angle’, so it can be viewed from all angles.
It is very slim at 2.3mm thickness and has a very high contrast ration of 10,000:1. This product is suitable for harsh environments as it operates in temperatures ranging from -400C to +800C.
It does not require a backlight for operation, minimising power consumption. This product is available in two sizes and with yellow and white colours as standard. Other colours are available upon request.
“For OEMs designing new products requiring a simple character display, this technology is ideal,” said Clive Dickinson, Business Manager for Optoelectronic products at GTK. “It’s high on performance, low on power consumption and requires less real estate than traditional technologies. The premium paid for this technology is more than traditional LCD technologies but this is more than offset by the advantages it offers in terms of space-saving and performance.”
