Software targets EDA market

Vertical ERP software targets Electronic Design Automation (EDA) market, to bridge the gap between electronics design, finance, and inventory management.

I was recently introduced to Optymo version 1.0, an enterprise resource planning tool from Inlynk, that has been designed to address the major problems encountered in the EDA market; controlling the complexity of parts management, increasing the reliability of the workflow between production and operations, and reducing the cost of production through vendor management and inventory tracking.
“The driving force behind the development of Optymo was a strong belief that the EDA market was in need of a tailor-made solution that could handle the complexity, detail and precision of the parts management process,” said Patrice Commune, President and CEO of Inlynk. “Optymo is a product with the web firmly in its DNA and as such, it’s fully integrated with the parts and inventory databases of the major parts vendors in North America and Europe, and provides our users with real-time inventory control, ordering, costing and project management data. There is no comparable product on the market today.”
Optymo is based on a mature and industry-tested code base and is a subscription-based software solution that has been developed from a keen sense of the requirements of the electronic design market. For nearly 20 years, Inlynk has been advancing the product’s roadmap through feedback from its clients. The result is a software solution that gives users control over their day-to-day business processes and simplifies the complexity of managing the constraints related to the development and production of electronic components.
“Optymo is a key element in our corporate processes,” commented Stéphane Deschênes, CEO at SMT Technologies. “Over the years we have worked closely with Inlynk to perfect the product and to enhance its performance with our processes. I’m proud to say that Optymo is essential in the acquisition of new customers.”
Partnerships are at the core of the Inlynk philosophy and form a critical part of Optymo. Close development relationships with the parts vendors and the major EDA software companies mean that Optymo users can rest assured that the data in their database is synchronised with their preferred vendors and that they can use reliable, actionable, real-time data for faster more dependable parts management in their design. With its IP Agent running in the background in real time, Optymo reads and automatically updates specifications for each part based on user-defined criteria with real-time links to suppliers’ catalogues. A further benefit of using Optymo is that it enables designers to calculate potential production costs. By associating a variety of factors to each step, including different types of labour and materials, it is possible to obtain an accurate and comprehensive view of production processes.
